hands down, California is a Place is producing some of the most intriguing and well executed short documentaries today. with subjects ranging from the real estate market collapse to the manufacturer of the most life-like sex dolls on the planet, the focus of California is a Place is as diverse as the state itself. with such a range of subject matter at its fingertips, expect more fascinating explorations to come. i particularly enjoy their short foray into the world of Godspeed Courier, a bicycle messenger service featured in the video posted above.
Microsoft: Red Bull Flugtag Competitor
technology giant Microsoft has been working diligently on their entry to this year's Red Bull Flugtag competition. the team hopes to beat the competition's flight record of 207 feet. built from lightweight materials mostly found in the local Home Depot hardware store, they believe their rudimentary knowledge of flight and construction will help them place well in the event. read more about it over at the Seattle Times!
