Helsinki Heat

woah!  progressive thinking!  massive amounts of energy is used to run our computers… in fact, much of the energy used is used to cool the machines.  Helsinki, Finland is looking at the heat produced by computers in a new way – they’re looking to heat their homes with it!  cooling costs are expected to be reduced by $561,000 a year. more info over at Core77 and  alink to the NY Times article from which their post derived.
