i’m likin this one… nice take on Biggie by Mick Boogie and Terry Urban.  executed well and remixed with quality tracks, many of which are already near and dear to my heart… it was refreshing to hear them in a different light!  download 4Free  Mick Boogie & Terry Urban – Unbelievable!  seriously one of my new favorite mixtapes… the whole thing is on fire – especially the latter tracks – 23 through 28 are REALLY on point…

another genius use of copyright infringement… music by RX, video by Etherworks.  this piece was introduced to me by RiP! A Remix Manifesto… in this mashup, words from Bush are cut and mashed with the classic Beatles song, Imagine.  amazing!  and if you like that, you might also be interested in the Sunday, Bloody Sunday mashup.

i was turned on to this mashup by the documentary, RiP! A Remix Manifesto… Negativland found an audio recording of a ranting Casey Kasem on a bad day at work… swearing and everything!  the rant was then mashed with a U2 song… which quickly led to a lawsuit…

i watched RiP! A Remix Manifesto on Hulu for the first time last night… what a great exploration of the recording industry!  Girl Talk is a large part of the focus of the movie – understandably, as he is well known for dissecting the most minute snippets of pop songs and mashing them together – obviously a concern for copyright enthusiasts. the movie is really well done.  definitely worth a watch.  i’ll be posting a couple more interesting things they mentioned in the movie, later on today.  oh- and coincidentally enough, without knowing Amp Live would be on the film, i was pleasantly surprised to see that the documentary spent some time on him and the legal battle he incurred with the company that owns the rights to Radiohead’s songs… Radiohead retaliated by making their work available for free!  seriously – if you have some time, watch this movie!!

a ton of tributes have been released since Michael Jackson passed, but few have taken the approach of mashing his music videos together.  Eclectic Method, doing what he does best, mashed them all together in a pretty tasteful fashion.  it seems Eclectic Method has taken a liking to tributes as i stumbled onto the video above after finding his tribute to John Hughes.  although Tarintino hasn’t passed, you might recall the previous post about Eclectic Method’s Tarantino mashup…. all worth a look!

i’m not huge on Jay-Z or Oasis, but i must admit… this mixtape is pretty good.  if you like mashups, this one is tasteful.  the two sound good together!  a lil alternative rock + a lil hiphop.  executed by Cookin’ Soul – download 4Free!  Jay-Z’s notorious for releasing his vocals so indie executors can do with them what they wish… i previously posted about the free Jaydiohead download.

YEAH!  this rocks… very smooth. nicely done.  the best of Tarantino mashed into 7 minutes. Eclectic Method on point!
