Singer Porsche 911
by L.A. on Oct.08, 2009, under transportation
ooooh, baby! what i wouldn’t give to have one of these! SwipeLife had some very sweet words to say:
The Singer 911 is just plain cool. The brand new company got started off on the right foot with this awesome take on a multigenerational 911. Evoking the spirit of the 60s original, the Singer 911 taps the best of each decade of Porsche engineering (the “race-bred chic” of the 70s, the bulletproof reliability of the 80s, and the “power and sophistication” of the 90s) and comes out a winner. The unique and very retro “Racing Orange” paint job looks terrific and is complimented by only slightly updated throwbacks like powercoated versions of Porsche’s trademark Fuchs wheels and OEM-like Hella bi-xenons up front. Under the paint, carbon fiber reigns supreme, replacing the steel body panels that wrapped the original; in fact, according to the engineers at Singer, their 911 weighs in at just 2,400 pounds. The interior is pure race car and is thankfully devoid of alcantara. With sexy Recaro seats, a Porsche racing three-spoke steering wheel, and VDO/Tag Heuer gauges highlighted by a color-matched Singer tachometer, the interior should obviously prove to any observer that this 911 is a driver’s car before all else. Speaking of driving, the Singer will hang with any GT3, thanks to its uniquely tuned 3.82 liter boxer-six, it is the proud owner of 425bhp, which enables the retro rocket to hit 60mph in a scant 3.9 seconds.
E-Wolf E1 – Electric Supercar
by L.A. on Sep.18, 2009, under sports, transportation
the Technical University of Dresden helped E-Wolf create this mean, green machine… for those unfamiliar with the university, they focus on nano-technologies, metallurgy, transport design and cutting edge materials research. combined, E-Wolf and the university make an incredible team! from Sub5Zero:
It runs a single 110kW engine, which produces 147hp and 185 ft lbs of torque. Hit the…spark pedal (?) and it will go from 0-60 in just under 5 seconds. Hold that pedal down and the e1 will scream, er, hum, its way to 147mph. And you won’t have a problem running out of juice in 20 minutes like my old Tiger Trax RC car did as the e1 has a range of 300km. Handling figures aren’t available yet, but the math adds up well. Carbon fiber wheels + racecar design cues + driver in the middle = good.
KTM Motorbike
by L.A. on Sep.18, 2009, under transportation
yeah…. what a sweet machine! from FLYLYF:
Unlike anything remotely conventional, British designer Matt Williams has developed his own interpretation of what a KTM superbike should look like. The two-wheeler is called the “KTM Motorbike” and at first glance it looks as if it is fresh off the set of the latest Batman movie. The bike has a chopper-esque low riding seating position and an arching forward futuristic design. The powerplant in this baby is a KTM V twin engine, which should make Ducati fans drool. The steering mechanism is hub-centered which gives the rider a better steering angle than standard fork based systems. Certainly a unique bike, I’d love one day to see this thing in production.

With its swooping fender struts and wood grain accents, the all-black model is part of their vintage collection which is available to purchase at Ridley’s own online store.
Gemballa Mirage GT – Carbon Edition
by L.A. on Jun.17, 2009, under transportation
this modified Porsche Carrera GT is packed with carbon fiber…. lightweight in design and specially mounted to create aerodynamic elements that will help keep this mean machine on the ground. from Autoblog:
Porsche’s free-revving V10 has been tuned to produce 670 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, enough to propel the rocket-sled up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 208 mph. There’s also an electro-hydraulic adjustable suspension to keep that carbon fiber lip spoiler clear of curbs and speed bumps. The package costs just shy of 300,000 euros ($425k), which doesn’t include the cost of the donor car, and production will be limited to just five examples…
