the Technical University of Dresden helped E-Wolf create this mean, green machine… for those unfamiliar with the university, they focus on nano-technologies, metallurgy, transport design and cutting edge materials research.  combined, E-Wolf and the university make an incredible team!  from Sub5Zero:

It runs a single 110kW engine, which produces 147hp and 185 ft lbs of torque. Hit the…spark pedal (?) and it will go from 0-60 in just under 5 seconds. Hold that pedal down and the e1 will scream, er, hum, its way to 147mph. And you won’t have a problem running out of juice in 20 minutes like my old Tiger Trax RC car did as the e1 has a range of 300km. Handling figures aren’t available yet, but the math adds up well. Carbon fiber wheels + racecar design cues + driver in the middle = good.

in the ’50s Italians could be seen cruising the streets in the Ape – Piaggio’s lil four-seater leisure vehicle.  reminiscent of times past, Piaggio has updated the design and is now releasing 100 of these bad boys with electric engines.  capable of speeds of around 30mph, this fun loving vehicle is perfect for putting off to the beach!

this modified Porsche Carrera GT is packed with carbon fiber…. lightweight in design and specially mounted to create aerodynamic elements that will help keep this mean machine on the ground.  from Autoblog:

Porsche’s free-revving V10 has been tuned to produce 670 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, enough to propel the rocket-sled up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 208 mph. There’s also an electro-hydraulic adjustable suspension to keep that carbon fiber lip spoiler clear of curbs and speed bumps. The package costs just shy of 300,000 euros ($425k), which doesn’t include the cost of the donor car, and production will be limited to just five examples…

While prototypes and concept cars such as our aforementioned Morgan Aero Supersports and Rinspeed iChange are more likely to turn heads, it’s the immaculately kept vintage and classic vehicles that represent the show’s true colors. Taking best in show this year was Jon Shirley’s 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C, and other vehicles such as a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet and a 1938 Bugatti 57S Atalante stunned onlookers at this most prestigious of events.
